**Given the dynamic nature of travel at the moment, we are following Virginia Tech’s travel and study abroad policies to inform our decisions on destinations and timing.
Both are designed for current and aspiring environmental and sustainability professionals looking to move from practitioner to leader. Recent and pending undergraduates are encouraged to apply to the online program.
MNR students come from both the public and private sectors, offering you the chance to network with a wide range of academic backgrounds and work experiences.
In place of a thesis or a capstone course, you’ll complete a Global Study**; an overseas, team-based experience that allows you to apply sustainable development strategies from your coursework to a real-world project.
Virginia Tech is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award doctoral, master’s, baccalaureate, and associate degrees.
The employment market for global sustainability professionals is booming and there is a wide variety of jobs at all levels and in all sectors, including business, government, and civil society organizations. Areas of focus range from climate and energy, to food and agriculture, to water and health. These jobs are in large and small organizations located in cities and rural areas worldwide.
